PROFESSIONAL IDENTITY.
I identify as a user-centred, purpose-driven designer with a strong focus on ergonomics, comfort, and intuitive interaction. My passion lies in designing products that feel natural to use and eliminate unnecessary strain or discomfort from people’s lives. I believe that tools should adapt to the human body—not the other way around—and I strive to create designs that reflect this principle.
Through courses like HCD and projects like P1, I’ve developed skills in empathizing with users, evaluating tactile experiences, and iteratively improving design concepts based on feedback. I’ve gained confidence in presenting and accepting ideas, pushing past perfectionism, and embracing the design process as a journey rather than a final answer.
I have had the opportunity to see the most impoverished areas of Istanbul, my hometown, and I’ve had the chance to talk and bond with the various communities there. These experiences have greatly impacted my communication skills, which is why my forte lies in user testing. I feel at home when discussing a person's issues and problems because that’s what I did throughout my teenage years and still do to some extent today.
In a team, I often take the initiative to enhance user experience and advocate for practical yet innovative improvements that challenge conventional norms. My strength lies in my critical eye for ergonomics, my ability to merge function with comfort, my relationships with users, and my growing capacity to lead collaborative efforts. While I still want to strengthen my technical skills in prototyping and digital modelling, I am confident in my developing ability to design with intention and empathy.
